55 students from Streethouse Primary & South Kirkby Academy were thrilled and amazed by the power and potential of this science and computer coding workshop.

 Activity Details:

SUBLIME SCIENCE

The interactive, hands-on Sublime Science Workshop is perfect for primary schools and is Guaranteed to inspire children to love learning and experimenting. The workshops are the perfect mix of Spectacular Science Experiments & Hands-on Activities, including:

•  'Magic' Tricks and Spectacular Experiments where the children's mouths will fall wide open with amazement! (And they'll about the scientific method too!)

•  Sweet Making as a Science Experiment - Every single child will be grinning from ear to ear when they taste them! (As well as understand chemical reactions!)

•  Spectacular Science - Bubbles, Smoke & Flying things where the children learn all about pressure, air & forces too

•  Gooey Slime Making - the children will make their own slime to take home & show their parents (and learn all about polymers too!)

The action-packed science workshops typically last for around one hour (although they can be adjusted to fit around your timetable) with up to 30 children in each session.

‘Scratch-ing the Surface of Physical Computing’ pi-top Workshops will show primary school children how they can use Scratch on a Raspberry Pi to:

¨     switch on real-life lights

¨     create an exciting Scratch project using the new light show

¨     use a pre-built traffic light called a “pi-stop”

¨     write some simple block-based code to turn the lights on and off

¨     operate in a 'playground' mode to create games or animations that utilise the traffic lights
